Recovery:
One goal.
Many Pathways.
My approach towards my work comes not only from training and education, but also from 9 years of lived experience as a person in recovery from addiction. This combination of both academic preparation and embodied experience has gifted me with a deeply holistic view of both addiction and recovery.
Many folks begin using substances as an adaptive way to cope with their human experience. When our coping mechanism has become substance use no longer serves us, the question becomes: what will?
I believe that every recovery journey is deeply personal and uniquely defined by the individual walking it. There is no single solution, no universal formula, and no “one-size-fits-all” approach to healing. “Recovery” means something different to each individual and identifying your own recovery pathway is a process of self discovery, remembrance, growth, and reconnecting with your own definition of wellness, purpose, and potential. I believe that each individual is the expert when it comes to their own recovery and wellness journey. My work is informed by empowered choice, person-first support and unbiased, stigma free communication. I strive to be curious instead of prescriptive and collaborative instead of directive.
I honor the many pathways that can lead toward recovery and wellness and believe that each person deserves support that reflects their lived experience, values, and goals. My mission is to walk alongside individuals with compassion, authenticity, and respect — offering encouragement, insight, connection, and support as they navigate their own path toward healing and sustainable recovery.
While sometimes initially daunting, entering into a process of recovery can become one of the greatest transformational experiences a person can have. When I first committed to recovering, I was afraid that my life would shrink. Looking back 9 years later I can confidently say that my life has expanded in ways beyond my wildest dreams, as a result of the work of recovery. My hope and intention is to support others as they discover their own gifts of recovery, wellness and healing.
I commend your courage for being here and look forward to learning more about you.
